Lovell Consulting has provided capital allowances advice to a large number of hotel chains and smaller boutique hotels. Now that hotel building allowances have been phased out capital allowances are much more important for hotel owners.
We recently completed a review of a major refurbishment of a high end London boutique hotel. £1m of allowances and repairs had already been identified by the surveyor. However, after surveying the property and reviewing the cost data we identified a further £0.5m of allowances for the client. This was because we could make assessments where detailed information was not available and ensure that costs like preliminaries and builders work in connection were apportioned correctly.
